Pumkin plants

Hi all, I've grown some pumkin plants and they are doing well. I've got at least 3 pumkin on each plant. What I want to know is can i cut the vine, to stop it spreading anymore? I've got enough pumpkins now but I don't want to kill the plants off.

I would 'stop' the vine at three leaves beyond the last fruit that you want to keep.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Good advice. And, if you've been fertilising the plants, make sure the fertiliser isn't high in nitrogen. Find one high in potassium (the K in NPK) to help the pumpkins develop.
