I have 6-7 small tree type shrubs in my garden that have 11 broad holly type leaves to each beach all coming from a central head and one has many stand up stamens on tp and look prehistoric? Any help what it is? Please!

    Glad you’ve found it. 🙂
have a read up about pruning them, you can chop the top right out and it will thicken up.

Mahonia lomariifolia they are! Thank you again! I don’t want them to thicken up they are amazing but I have recently come to take over the gardens in a large grounds with half forest drive and half garden and have been coming across new ones in the undergrowth aswell and think they look amazing as they are!
