Inside out Iris

One of my irises, which normally has yellow or white flowers, has  suddenly generated 3 or 4 pinky red flowers with petals folded backwards from normal leaving just the stamens exposed and pointing in the normal direction. I've asked several experienced gardeners and none has ever seen anything like them. See the pic.

Is this abnormal?

Those are lilies, Bob. They are completely normal. I can't see an iris. Could it have been crowded out?

Are the red flowers on the same stem as the white flowers?  If not could it be that there is a random bulb that got in with the others?  For some reason I have a gladioli coming up in a plant pot of Nerines. No idea how it got there.
