Unidentified fruit on shrub

hi All
my father in law has asked whether the fruit in the picture are edible. He has no idea what plant it is. Any ideas?

Doesn't help much really - we need to see the whole 'bush' or however it grows.  A wild guess would be some sort of shrubby Lonicera.  If it is a honeysuckle then most varieties have slightly poisonous berries but one or two are edible.  However, it's probaly something completely different! ;)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
