Help with my new Canna

I have recently bought a Canna and as I have not grown them before am unsure how to proceed I have it in a large pot and in the six weeks since I bought it at an open garden sale it has grown 6 new leaves and 4 more small plants. How do I proceed to pot the new plants on without hurting my original Canna please? they are growing by the day

    You're best to leave the whole plant to develop and split it into separate plants in winter when it's dormant.

    This post came at an opportune moment just got my first ever canna Gorgeous bronze foliage orange flower and looks amazing for a good price too. Wasn't sure how to care for it but thanks for the excellent advice Hostafan.
