Sunflowers Flowering Early

I grow mamoth sunflowers every year, some have gotten as tall as 10-12 feet.....normally my sunflowers don't start growing their "heads" until mid August, i noticed today one of them starting to grow ts "head" now, which seems very early to me.....and the stalk is only about 6 feet tall....was hoping they would grow taller before flowering....any reason for this?

Could be the extreme heat at the moment. I have seen a lot of shorter ones too, and many of the flowerheads are almost full size which is quite early.

Mine is about 10ft tall with 3 heads open already, much earlier than usual.

Mine started opening last month! They are not very tall this year (tallest just over 6ft) but many have multiple heads. A couple flopped when I was away so they were sacrificed to a vase. I was hoping the Autum Gold would last well into September but they will likely all be open in the next week or so.

All of mine have failed to reach last years huge heights, some of them have flowered or are in the early stages and some haven’t yet but I can see the heads just starting to form. So disappointed as we normally have loads of huge ones. It’s the talking point of my road. And normally they flower well into September. Is there anything that can be done. What about putting some more seeds in now or is it too late ?

My Velvet Queen, free with GW mag, are getting tall but so far no sign of flowers. Will they still flower? Do they need special conditions?
