Can anyone confirm what this bug is? Milkweed?

Hi all. Have seen a few of these on various plants around the garden, these ones on an ornamental grass, they're about 1cm or so long I guess. I tried googling and thought they might be milkweed bugs but patterning seems different to all the ones I saw plus says they're from North America. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help in identifying.

    Great, thanks Papi. I have seen them for a number of years and never really given them much thought, but what with so many invasive species entering UK I thought I should check them out just to make sure. Good to see they are at least British natives and don't seem to do too much in the way of harm. And yes ZeroZero I guess because they look more exotic got me wondering :)
