When I started my Lottie 8 years ago I made 4 foot beds with a small path in between and then stupidly thought to get rid of the 9 paths and so recover 9 foot of soil.
In subsequent years I have trampled all over the plot that I split into 14 foot by 14 foot "areas"
This season I have reverted to the 8 beds and not once stepped on the growing area.
ALL and I say ALL of my seeds have sprouted and I now have 8 beds full of stuff to eat
It cant be only the bed system but it has made me much more organised and regimented as its easier to how an area of 4 x 14 foot etc
