Your dahlias and roses will be better than hers  :)

Well... We both don't have Dahlias however her roses are better than mine also! I think this is partly because we planted hers in the ground and I kept mine in a container.

We both have the same rose and hers is twice the size of mine with twice as many thick canes. Hers was smothered in roses and is also starting to repeat bloom already whereas mine isn't even starting to shoot again yet.

I definately won't grow roses in containers again after seeing the difference between the ones in containers compared to the ones in the ground.

ah yes, well. I don't find even 'patio' roses do well in pots. But if you put yours in the ground and you feed and water it, it'll overtake your gran's

I feel it's great that your Gran's G. Rozane flourishes more than your own. Don't be jealous; you have many more years to live and enjoy plants and flowers on this Earth than her. ;)
I am quite disappointed with my own 3 specimens of G. Rozanne, planted 4 years ago in the soil, and not growing nor blooming terribly well. Makes me quite envious of @raisingirl 's 'monster'.

JA no: 2 is seed compost, no good for anything other than seed sowing.

Not a very good photo because the light is too strong out there at the moment - but you can see the size. Honestly - it's just one plant. I divided it and moved it to this position 2 years ago.

I expect it's the clay soil over-feeding her. I'm going to have to move her away from the borders

I'm hoping my Rozanne will take over and go a little wild. She works so hard. And the bees are in love.
