    Oh don't say that @scroggin as mine have only just set fruit, they were supposed to be courgettes🙄, and I was hoping six weeks might be enough, if we get that long.

    I’m afraid I ignored your advice scroggin. On closer inspection, one of this did have some small rust patches.

    These look pretty good. Fingers crossed a couple more set and we get an Indian summer so they’ve got time to develop.

  • I'm sorry you didn't get more definitive answers to your butternut squash discoloration problem . I myself am experiencing the same problem in my front yard garden.  However I did some research after reading one of your answered comments and found out it is called black rot fungus please check the YouTube link below.

  • I assume it was some sort of fungal rust. I gave up growing butternut squash but have had much more success with tromboncino. They seem pretty indestructible.
