What's this weed? yellow flowers

This plant grows everywhere round mine in Kent,  in the hedge rows and sadly in my garden too. Seems to have very long tap roots but is easy to pull up thankfully.

Grows to 50cm high,  clay soil. Leaves are almost furry.

    Fleabane ...  Pulcaria dysenterica ...

Some popped up in a bag of compost here  ... totally the wrong sort of soil here for it so @nutcutlet was pleased to have it ... I wonder if it survived the move?

It survived the move, Dove but not sure it's survived the last 2 months

Maybe it's seeded itself around a bit?

Thank you very much. Strange that it says it grows in wet habitats though,  the borders of my garden are dry as anything for most of the year!

You've got clay ... I bit it's still damp way down deep most years (perhaps not this year) and those long tap roots can reach down there to find what moisture there is.
