Flying Insect Identification

This insect was in my conservatory and I don’t remember seeing it before. Apologies for the poor quality photos.

    Black slip wasp, Pimpla rufipes:
    I consider them a friend as their main prey is the caterpillar of the Large White cabbage butterfly! :)
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Good to know isn't it ppatter? Fascinating what's all around us, working away, and we often know nothing about it!
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
