white fungus

Hi, I have got a white fungus on an acer, and a bush that i've had in my garden for years, could someone please me what this is and how i get rid of it.

    Could you post some photos using the icon with the sun and mountains on (why we couldn't have a camera icon is beyond me)If you hover over it it will say "Attach image"

    I'm wondering if it could be the eggs of scale insects?
    I get them on my acer and it can be a bit fungus looking if you don't know what it is.

    I agree fidget that this type of icon 📷, makes more sense than this one 🗻
    Remember when it used to be a tree 🌳 😆.
