Beautiful tree- but what is it?

saw this beautiful tree in someones garden, does anyone know what it is please?

    I think that's Prunus serrula ... the Tibetan cherry ... that bark looks amazing in a winter garden.  :)

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Its the most beautiful bark i have ever seen. I am colour blind, but to my faulty eyes it looks like red and cream stripey silk- its enchanting!

    If you like beautiful bark and stuff like that, keep a look out for gardens specifically planted for winter interest ... the National Trust has quite a few ... I think they'd be right up your street  B)
