Hose pipe smells of rotten eggs

    It may be that it is the rubber/plastic material that is causing the smell, not the water. In which case, the problem should go away in time.  You could also try contacting the manufacturer for their response.

    Hi guys, thanks for the suggestions. I'll try some of the ideas out. The water comes from the house which comes off the incoming water feed. It's definately the hose as no matter where I am in the garden when I fire it up it smells. I'll flush it through again soon and maybe again afterwards. It's better after the last flush out, if I do it again before it gets bad and keep on top of it we'll see how it goes. Will keep you posted.😉

    It is worth contacting the manufacterer. They might have other complaints. Was it a new hose to you?

    Update to this thread. I ended up replacing the hosepipe as nothing cured the problem. The auto-rewind reel was expensive and I didn't want to throw it so I took it apart, changed the hosepipe for a new Hozelock pipe and put it back together. Just hoping this one stays odour free. Appreciate the help and advice given.
