Well, both Geranium Nodosum and Oxonianum 'Wargrave Pink' are already in my garden! Beautiful they are too and Nodosum is rampant if not kept in check. I have just cut of all the seed heads hoping for a late show. The two I mentioned are both doubles. I hope they have the same vigour. I also wonder if they will flower in the shade the way Nodosum does.
Unfortunately, I have never grown them so can't say, but provided you prepare the planting hole well and there is some sun part of the day in the summer, I can't see why not. You may see less flowering with less sun or the plants may flop about trying to reach the light.
The only issue I think may be whether the stems can support the flowers over a period of time, and most importantly, after rainfall, will they flop about and spoil the look. Double forms may look good in photographs, but the test is in normal growing conditions, do they 'literally' stand up.
