What keeps happening to my Spindle Tree?

I've had a Euonymous Europa in a pot for 3 years now. Each spring, all it's white flowers fall off and I never see the lovely Orange/pink fruit in Autumn (the only reason I bought it :(). The rest of it appears healthy.

Can anyone suggest what might be happening? Thank you for any assistance

This is what it looks like at the moment.

Do you see bees or hoverflies around the flowers?  Perhaps they're not being pollinated.  Otherwise, stress may cause fruit and flowers to drop off - it's in quite a small pot so it could perhaps be too dry at a crucial moment?
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Euonymus europaeus grow to substantial proportions in open ground ; it will never reach full potential in a pot . This applies to most trees grown this way .
I doubt it gets the necessary minerals or enough water to sustain flower or fruit production .
Can you plant it out anywhere ?

Sadly no, just a small yard really, hence the pots. But thank you for the suggestion.

I can't actually recall. I'll keep an eye out next year to see if that's contributing to the problem.
  • What a numpty I am. I had forgotten I had posted an almost identical post last year. It was suggested then I take it out of the pot :/  I'm so forgetful!
