Water lily

I've found that you do not have to plant a water lily in a container before you put it into a pond. Over the years I've just placed them in the pond and they've grown away happily. Sometimes they anchor themselves. Other times they float around.

I tie mine to a bit of engineering brick (the ones with holes in them for easier tying ) and chuck them to where i think the water is the right depth.
