Can I plant a chamomile lawn now?

I have an area between stepping stones and was planning on planting a chammomile there in the spring, which apparently is the best time to plant such lawns. However due to a miscommunication (!) it has now got weeded. Is it too late to plant now? It’s a small area so happy to pay for plants. Alternatively would a thyme lawn do better? Or just wait for spring and re-weed? Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends on whether you can get through the soil And are prepared to water.
Don't know anything about chamomile but thyme likes sun and good drainage.

I used to grow it in a rockery where it seemed ok for a few years. I can't remember what happened to it.
If you want it for a lawn, make sure you get the right variety - you don't want the taller one with flowers
An RHS article here may help
