Climber

I have a climbing plant that has grown the height of a 6 foot fence but seems to die off at the bottom. Not sure whether to cut it back or add compost and water. It was doing this before the current heatwave

Is it a honey suckle? If so then you can cut it back by about a third. They tend to have a main stem or several that are bare at the bottom, seems quite normal. I would also take the opportunity to cut out those dead stems too.

ok thanks. Yes it's a honeysuckle so presumably ok to cut it back now?
