Advice Regarding Bonsai Just Coming Out Of Dormancy, Please?

Hi everyone,

I have a Pomegranate Bonsai tree which I posted about here earlier in the year, Because of the extended winter we had here in the UK (the beast from the east) this particular tree failed to come out of dormancy at the start of spring.

I thought it would probably die as was the opinion of some members here, not surprisingly.

However I decided to just leave it until the end of the year. I took it in from outside, changed the compost to fresh to get rid of the water logged roots and left it on the window sill.

This week it has begun to wake up which is great. But I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how to treat this tree for the remainder of the year, given it will have a limited growth period. and also would it be a good idea to keep it inside over winter this year because it has suffered a shock, even though that might mean it will come out of dormancy next year a bit too early which is always the case if you keep deciduous plants in the warm over winter? in other words, (limited growth this year and an early wake up next year?)

Please let me know what you think if you have the time.

Here is a pic where you can just see the buds coming through.

Thanks for reading,

BJ :-)

I think I would put it in a shady spot in the garden for the summer and just let it recover at its own pace.
In the winter I would bring it inside for protection and possibly just leave it to its' own devices for a while.
