Advice for a newcomer, please
in Fruit & veg
Hello All,
New to the forum, new to gardening and growing, and wondering if I could please get some advice.
I have been successful in growing tomatoes and have some peppers and gherkins coming along nicely in my little greenhouse.
At this time of year, what can I plant next ? I know I could read the back of every seed packet in Wilkos to see when is best time to plant etc... but this is time consuming and there are hopefully lots of kind experts out there who can advise me. Any ideas gratefully received
Thank you

Hope the following link works - if not just Google it:

In the meantime, I am still succession sowing beetroot, lettuce, dwarf french beans (more in hope than expectation), peas (ditto), basil, parsley and chives.
Some people start sowing winter salad about now, stuff like pak choi, mitsumi (not sure I got that right
Best of luck whatever you go for
It's a gardening year diary of what and when produced by a chap on another gardening forum. He's in Yorkshire so you may need to adjust timings earlier or later depending on where you are. The other thing to do is get a copy of Dr Hessayon's Vegetable book as it sows what to do and when with each crop so you can concentrate on what you like and have space for.
If you're a complete gardening beginner, you could do worse than get a copy of Alan Titchmarsh's How to be a Gardener which explains how, where and why plants grow and then goes on to how to make your garden work for you. You can follow it online too - http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/htbg/
I'm looking forward to that "sense of achievement" many times over .
