My sister and I once cobbled together homemade blinds for my late mum's conservatory,. We used yards of green voile/lightweight cotton? gathered onto bamboo canes which were then hung on cuphooks fixed to the top of the side walls. From memory we then gathered all the material the other end and tied it to the central light/fan fitting.  A bit Heath Robinsonish, but it worked to keep the conservatory a bit cooler. (We couldn't afford the proper blinds back then).  It came down for occasional washing as I recall.

Getting burglarized isn't a problem. The door between the kitchen and the conservatory is still the original outside door and that is always locked and chained on a night. All that is in the conservatory apart from furniture is a radio.

lizzie, we did a similar thing in our first (south facing) conservatory, dirt poor, I went to a wholesaler bought thick deck chair canvas and made blinds, mind you, the conservatory was half the size of this one, and had a basic lean to roof.  I meant to say permitted planning was 10 feet x 10, 3 mts, not 10 metres!  Someone I know has had conservatory built HUGE (permitted development rules regarding size relaxed till 2019) they removed the outer house wall into it, WITH NO STEELS! so there is no regulation door, or even a wall for that matter! and they have made part of it into another bedroom, permanently used, illegal, and good luck with this weather!

I don't sleep in the conservatory haha. Since this, last year we bought a proper portable air conditioner unit which we put on for an hour before going to bed and an air cooler, which you can add water, freezer blocks, and it will ionise as well.we have a lantern roof you don't have openers in them

We made a second home from the winter garden. It turns out in one part we have a greenhouse. On the other side a kitchen and a guest room. There is no heating, so we solved the issue with the air conditioners. In summer, they cool, and in winter, on the contrary, they heat. The only thing is that every six months, I call a specialist from https://www.airconservicingsingapore.com/. So, that they clean and carry out maintenance on all air conditioners. Frankly speaking, I was always afraid that someone might get into that part of the house, so we installed an alarm, and now I sleep calmly.
Do they service AC units in UK?
