Same here. My landmark is the lawn being laid on 17 April. Since then - and only in early May - we had a few occasions of light rain. None other than that.
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need. Cicero
No rain in mid-Suffolk since May. Has been very, very hot and occasionally quite breezy too - which is just as drying as the sun & heat.
Went into town yesterday & was saddened by the site of the beautifully planted roundabouts (mainly shrub and perennial planting) scorched & wilting - not dissimilar to my front garden. I was also quite shocked to see the number of fairly mature trees and bushes clearly struggling in the hedgerows on the way into town.
I've been having mixed emotions about the rain. On the one hand I desperately need it for the garden. On the other, I noticed the front guttering was broken 3 - 4 weeks ago - probably due to heat expansion. We've had to wait to hire a cherry picker to get up there and tend to it - so I've also been praying it wouldn't rain and send gallons of water down the front wall of the house.
Guttering was fixed yesterday - so it's rain dances all the way now!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Cos how can you be grumpy
When the sun shines out your bum!
