Short sweet pea stalks
in Plants
My sweet peas are growing well but all the stalks are very short - some no more than two inches. I gave up growing Cupani years ago because they tended to have short stalks - no good for cut flowers. This year's plants are just 'old fashioned mixed'. What am I doing wrong?

My neighbour showed me a bunch that she had picked the other day - stalks were about 3"
Almost certainly down to the hot weather

I love Cupani, and although the stems are shorter than many others, they're perfect for a little bud vase or simple small drinking glass
They need a lot of food and water - harder this year because of weather conditions, unfortunately.
