Tetrapanax papyrifer

Hi again
I have one of the above and think I 've located the perfect spot. I did have a chat with a grower at the chatsworth show, but forgot to ask this question.....I understand that they sucker, especially if the roots are disturbed? Do they sucker a lot or is it easy to keep on top of OR I could put a barrier in the ground, but not sure how deeply they root?

they can't cope in my garden, to cold, no sheltered corners. They do well at places like East Ruston and sheltered town gardens. Yes they sucker, I've got my name on one in a friend's garden and will have another try
