Who am I?

I have been tidying next door neighbour's garden for him and found this little fellow in the gap in some paving.  Has anyone any idea as to what it is please?

He is about an inch long......In old money.
Thanks

Thank you all.  I think he looked lovely,  it was the colour that caught my eye . I didn't think it was real until it moved.

The elephant hawk moth caterpillar will get very large, It is called this because it has what looks like a trunk it can extend. It will clear the new growth from a fushia ovetnight when finished will leave to hide elsewhere until appearing as a large pink moth.
