kev vankev van Posts: 114
I have a corner that's 7ft by 9ft squareish east and south facing. I intend to plant it in a large tub that i hope i can move if we decided to move. is that a ok position? I'm looking at getting a 4-5ft fern next door has one on our dividing fence and its facing north, south and west its doing lovely but doesn't get to show of its full umbrella like shape cos some of the fonds are pushed up by the fence

tree ferns like shade or semi-shade -dappled shade is best as they are a forest understory tree, they will grow in full sun, but you must water them pretty much every day in hot weather (sometimes twice a day if its really hot and dry).

plus you want to protect it in winter, as a five foot tree fern will set you back a fair amount of money
