Lawn weed

These are popping up on a regular basis across my lawn and in various parts of the garden.
Growth is rapid.
Any help appreciated

    Hello Igrowfromseed. Have you by any chance got a large tree or shrub growing close by as these look very much like tree suckers.

    Found the culprit next to the stump
    We had a Robina cut down a few months ago. It's suckering everywhere. If I try an kill the stump will it help?

    The suckers are coming from the roots. Theoretically, you could dig them out but it's a hell of a job and very destructive. I would just mow the suckers when you do the grass and they will eventually give up.
