    Look at this photo and tell me if you think the irises mixed in with the heleboures will ever flower i think not but just want other opinions i woll remive them if you all agree that not enough sunlight will get to the rhizomes thanks Lester

    I think they either need their rhizomes baking a bit more or maybe just more time to develop.  The answer depends on how long they've been in there.

    Some of them have been there for years from all you see only around 6 which were located near to the rose flowered all the rest no show .
    Infact almost the same as last year

    Move them then to a sunnier spot.   Irises are fabulous in flower and their foliage is a good foil for other plants but they do have to earn their keep.

    Obelixx i agree its just getting my boss to say yes and after living here most of his life that aint easy i got around 70 Rhizomes ready to be potted up then i intend to replant them next spring as it is easier to do it that way and im real busy right now amd its to hot  cheers Lester

    This is the first time I have grown any. I think I got  the plant in the casualty tray. A couple of yrs ago .They are a simple yellow and white.
     They have settled in now and look really good .

    I am now looking for some more . So much that I nearly went off to buy some more today . 15 miles to our nearest big Garden centre. 
    I have the right place.

    According to Claire Austin, the best time to divide and replant bearded irises is August, which gives them to settle in and flower the following year. Don't know whether this helps.
