Can I grow a tall tree in a large container

I have just moved into a new home and sadly the silver birch which is jammed behind the log store and boundary hedge has outgrown its space and is causing some damage to the house wall. We have arranged to have it removed but it provides some shelter to our bedroom window upstairs and I am wondering if I could when it has gone replace it with something similar in a large container. Any ideas please with regard to whether it is possible, which tree and what size container. Thanks

Unsure how tall a tree you want to start with as most trees will grow in containers for several years after all thats how tree nursery sell most of them.
The cost of a large tree would be considerable as would a large container.

If the one that is being chopped down has 'outgrown its space' and is jammed in between log store and boundary, will you have room to put a large pot which will take up more room than a tree in the ground???
