New Laurel Hedges

Hi

Just popping in here to see if i can get a definitive answer to a couple of laurel related questions.

I've just planted 10 laurels that are about 6 feet rall. They are quite spindly and soft at present. I would like the hedge to grow to about 10 feet and would like them to be bushy.  What's the best way to achieve this with newly planted laurels?  Should I prune them at all or let them settle in first?

I would let them alone and prune them hard as you like later

Definitive answer? I would trim now as best time is late spring/early summer. Would also cut down a lot of moisture loss so less water needed but then I just cut things down when I notice they need sorting out so no expert answer here but laurel is tough

Without seeing them...I would say cut them down to 3’, usually do this on planting,
have a look at this thread for some photos to compare yours, just read the last page, wouldn’t expect you to read it all😀. Look at Befuddleds before and after pictures.
