Michaelmas daisies in flower!

Flowers have opened on one of my Michaelmas daisies today, more than two months early! The leaves have been drooping because of the drought, and I have had to give it extra water, so I wonder if there is a connection? I am not worried about it, but it is strange. Does anyone else have flowers at the wrong time?

Which "Michaelmas daisy" is it? Flowering season depends on the species/cultivar. Here are my recorded "first flower" dates for my Aster / Symphyotrichum novi-belgii 'Marie Ballard':

    2015: 17 july
    2016: end of June!
    2017: 21 july
    2018: no flowers yet

'Marie Ballard' in full bloom, 13 September 2015

Aster Frikartii Monch flowers July-October too. Beautifully, long flowering plant.
  • It is Aster novae-angliae 'Herbstschnee', which usually starts in September.
