I'm taking all mine out tomorrow as I only have two beans!!The ground can go to better use. I won't be getting "moonlight" again!! The flowers are all falling off with no bean behind. Scarlet ones next year!

I'll give them a bit more time then Dove, the trouble is I've had no confidence in them since they were babies,as several came up deformed!! I must have had the worst of them as I gave half a packet to my daughter, and hers are fine.........grown in a big pot!! With a bit of compost! Mine had manure dug into a trench in the ground! Never mind my Cosmos are huge!

I water the leaves etc on my runners because they get covered in black fly, have grown Firestorm for years always been a very good cropper, I went through the veggi plot this morning, when I got back indoors, there was a runner bean stuck on my right shoulder.
It'll be no consolation to you, but my beans are in the perfect spot, well watered, manured, fed, and now about 7' tall.... And not a single flower has set. You aren't alone!
I'm getting about a 20% or lower set rate which is really unusual for my garden. Tons of bees around, the ground is well watered and the plants have a mass of flowers. I'm blaming the heat and hoping things improve later in the season.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
