I'm in the south West of England and I have been seeing lots of different types of bees and more bumble bees than usual too. They tend to come out before it gets too hot, but in the morning I see lots and a wide variety of butterflies too.

Loads of bees of all types, but I’ve consciously planted for them over the years. Probably as a result, there are a fair few butterflies as well.

I went to a plant fair this morning, held at a local mini stately home, with a garden full of wonderful specimen trees.
There was a bed of Nepeta easily 25 yards long and I only saw 1 bumble bee on it!
There were dragonflies by the lake though.

I only ever seem to get the white butterflies.  Have 2 buddlegas this year so hopefully I will see more.

I have been out in the garden most of the day and there are lots of butterflies. They are mostly of the brownish persuasion and I cannot name them but there is no shortage .

We've also noticed a lack of butterflies this past week and not so many bees or ladybirds either. There's plenty of blackfly around though.

Up on bees (got more flowers this year) but definitely short on butterflies. This last week though a few more tortoishell and wall browns, but mostly whites and blues...
  • I have some Sarracenias which live outdoors in summer, and they have been catching very few insects, whereas last year the pitchers were packed with flies. Bees also seem to be very few in number.

Starting to see afew white butterflies and also pollen bugs around the poppies but bees not so many, blackfly yes and even though the spadges are on a second set of fledglings they can't keep up.
