My Mum rose

Can I grow a My Mum rose rooted cutting in a large patio pot? The position is exposed, facing south so a hot sun but also very blustery in the winter.

Maybe start it off in a 15inch pot for a while if it's a small cutting then move on to a larger pot.
They like sun and perhaps you can put it in a more sheltered position over winter and reduce the height to prevent wind rock.
  • That's an idea K67, thanks for the helpful suggestions.  I am feeling pleased with myself - I took a cutting from my new My Mum rose last year and it appears to have rooted in the rooting bed in the garden.  I will wait until the autumn to transplant this cutting into the pot. I just didn't want it to go into the rose bed (it's already full), and I thought a pot would be nice on the patio.
