Thanks K67 the scent is overpowering in this hot weather and a lovely view from the lounge window.

The Clem gets a St Valentines day massacre down to 6" max Fire, and when the SJ finishes flowering it sends out masses of long shoots. Mine is big enough, so I chop them off every few weeks, and just leave bits to grow where I want them.
So long as it's kept well watered during the growing season - they're easy to care for

@Pete8 hi, I've had my star jasmine 3 years.  I repotted in spring. I've never pruned but will need to this year. Do you only take off the newest of stems when you prune yours. I'm happy with the shape and hight it's just gone a little bushy now. Thanks

Have you just got an obelisk for it to grow up and around?

Yes @Burtsnest, it throws out long whippy shoots that seem to grow 3ft overnight. I just snip them back to the rest of the foliage, or if I want to fill a gap, give some shoots encouragement in the right direction.

Hi, just searched re jasmine and found your post which is exactly what I'm looking to achieve with an obelisk & a larger container. Quick question if I may, is it planted inside or outside of the obelisk? Cheers.

Judging by the size of the pot and the obelisk, I'd say it's planted inside.  As long as there is sufficient root space, it won't make any difference putting a climber inside or outside an obelisk, you can train the shoots onto the obelisk by either tying them in or giving them a helping hand.  For example, I'm training a Clematis to grow up a tree, using a cane angled towards the trunk and will tie in the shoots to the branches above the trunk as they grow.  I noticed your other post on this subject and thought that the video about growing Trachelospermum in pot in this link might help you.
