well renovation

Hi everyone..I would like to renovate my mothers' well. It is an old one so it looks really awful now..It is also a bit rusty here and there. What is more, my mom is still using it to derive water so I would like to make it with some kind of spinning wheel to make it easier. Have you got some ideas how to do it? And also how to renovate this well?

    This is a gardeners forum not really a builders. Can't really help unless we know what it looks like so photos please

    It would probably be easier for your Mum to drop a small pump down there than to add a wheel hoist (unless the wheel is basically decorative). I assume she's not using for drinking water? If she is then you definitely need advice from a local water treatment specialist (there are lots around in any rural areas).
    In terms of building a surround to look nice, the only real advice is make sure you cap it properly before you start so you can't fall down it

    Other than that, as K67 says, we need a bit more to go on?

    Definitely more detail required.  How is water currently extracted? Construction of well...
