Jackdaws will take any kind of dry vegetation from around here for nesting material so that might explain where some of it went. A neighbour is building a house and has had to repeatedly turf out some jackdaws from trying to nest in the eaves. He reckons he's had several binbags full of sticks, dry grass and even sheep bones out of there.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Mary370. Yes, I think it must be birds.

Fire. Definitely not worried, just intrigued.

Wild edges. What about pigeons? We have loads of them nesting in our trees and bushes. Good nesting material perhaps?

    Thanks again for everyone's input.
