Is this a weed? Thought they were Verbascum seedings, now not so sure.

It's woundwort - Stachys sylvatica, native wild flower, though it can spread. It has a strange musty smell and in the past was used to staunch wounds.

Hi Nigel. It looks to me like Hedge Woundwort. It has an unpleasant smell when it is pulled up. A native wild flower that is quite invasive. I do try and remove it if it appears in my garden.
