Silver birch - leaves and catkins have died

Advice needed please. I planted 5 silver birch six years ago - they are now between 15-20ft tall.  Four of them look fine and healthy but in the last few weeks on one of them all the leaves and catkins have died.  If I break some of the small twig like branches they are still green. I desperately want to save the tree - any suggestions please? I have tried watering and mulching it since the leaves died, and I can't see any bore holes from bugs although not really sure what I'm looking for. Should I get an arborist in? Thx LB

better advice will come along, but i can tell you this year we had our catkins go brown and 'hang around' this year, whilst some new ones came along afterwards.  not sure if this is normal, i haven't seen it happen before but ours looks in reasonable health still.

Best to get a professional in to take a look.  It would be a shame if it's something that could infect the other trees, but could be prevented through removal and treatment.
