What type of succulent is this?

I grabbed this bad boy yesterday from a well known cheap hardware shop. It was inconspicuously labelled as ‘aloe plant’. 
What sub species do you think it is?

    Well it isn't an aloe. Maybe an aeonium?
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I would have said a Crassula spp. with all the growing points mysteriously removed .
    Don't think it's an Echeveria .
