Standard Rose tree

Hi, I have just bought a standard rosetree in full bloom for our terrace. However it is in a fairly small container, can I safely repot it in a bigger container??or do I have to wait? As it is now it won't retain a lot of water.

    I would get it into a nice big and hefty container as soon as possible.  I would use John Innes No 3 loam based potting compost with the addition of some well rotted organic matter or multi-purpose compost to aid drainage in a ratio of 3:1  :)

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
