Sally

I need to 'revamp' a border that has a lot of spring bulbs in ie hyacinths, tulips, daffodils in it and wondered if it is too late to dig them up now that summer is here?

Not at all, summer is their dormant time.  Keep them somewhere cool and dry until you're ready to replant them.
  • I left the leaves to die off to nourish the bulbs but I guess I should've labelled them as to what was daffodils, hyacinths etc but didn't! They've been in that border for years and come up lovely every year but are in a right old muddle and clumpyforming so need dividing, plus I want to plant summer plants in that border and thought if it wouldn't harm the bulbs I'd lift them but just needed to know that it would be ok. Thank you so much for providing me with the answer, time to get cracking then!
