Looks to me like one of the mock oranges or Philadelphus. Like other early flowering shrubs it can be pruned back immediately after flowering finishes. Cut out one third of the stems to the base every year, going for the oldest and woodiest so that the shrub is consistently renewed over time. Shorten any other stems to a height and shape that suits you.
Then give it a feed of slow release fertiliser and a good drink if it's been dry. Pruning immediately after flowering gives it time to produce new shoots which will flower next year. Leave it too late and you will have fewer flowers.
