contorted hazel problem

I bought a contorted hazel this year and everything was going well until the very strong winds last week, now the leaves are dry and wizened. Should I remove them

I'd leave them. If the plant wants to jettison them , it will.

The leaves will provably drop off. I would make sure it has a large bucket of water each week in this hot weather. All newly planted shrubs will need plenty of water, until they get their roots down.
  • Thanks for the advice. Will take it on board
