Please ID this fruiting tree in Sweden

Hi all,

can you you tell me what this small tree is? It is growing some small round fruits which I thought might be cherries, but the fruits are growing individually rather than in bunches, and also the size seems too large for cherries. Colour of the fruits is orange at present, but may change . Location is central sweden. Thanks all!

My only thoughts are that the leaves and branches look very cherry-like, as does the fruit.
So I'd still suspect it is a cherry of some kind.
Will be interesting to see what others think

It's most certainly a cherry. cherries normally grow singly or in pairs, here in Denmark some are ready now due to the warm May. I would try one and see if it is sweet some cherries are orange/yellow when ripe, others need to get to dark red.

Oh! I'm surprised but of course I accept your opinion as I'm a real ignoramous in the garden. I never thought it would be a cherry tree but I will taste the fruit like you said.

How nice to finally know what our mystery tree is! Thank you

You could cut one open and see if it looks like a cherry pit inside - but that's no guarantee.
