Lonicera Dropmore Scarlet

AllyblueeyesAllyblueeyes Posts: 420
Evening everyone. There seems to be a conflict of opinion as to whether Lonicera Dropmore  Scarlet is scented or not - RHS and T&M say it’s not but other sites say it is. I know from other posts this is a popular honeysuckle but can any who has one confirm either way?
Many thanks!

I had this in another garden colour was brilliant but it had no scent. Mind you I do have a good sense of smell but strangely often struggle to smell what are supposed to be fragrant flowers!

Thanks K67 - I do hope that if you grow sweet peas you can smell them!!! 😕

Tried Cupani sweet pea one year and despite having 2 wigwams full of it the smell wasn't that strong, better when indoors!

Dropmore Scarlet isn't scented. I had one in my last house and I have one here.

Ok, thank you everyone - I’ll plant it down the garden and try a lonicera ‘sensation’ by the kitchen door (where I want the scent).  I hope this one lives up to the reviews!  🤞
