    Thanks all.
So I've been busy over the weekend (along with doing a charity walk with my wife!) and taken down the cloche, put netting directly over the raised bed and put masses of straw to raise it up to the edge of the bed itself. I spotted there was 1 strawberry which was doing ok on Sunday but unfortunately it's been eaten, again by slugs I think...argh.

I've been putting out sugary water in some small plastic saucers which seems to have attracted lots of ants but no slugs yet - maybe it's time to buy in some cheap beer instead and see if I can get them drunk and keep away from my strawberries?? haha.

Well we had our first strawberry today - yum! Looking forward to the others pushing along so we can get some more.

I finally got around to getting a new picture with the straw all sorted and the saucers. Again, they're still filling up with ants but no slugs yet - presume it's too hot for them?

Thanks Blue Onion! Well the strawberries are really coming along now, must have had around 20 of varying sizes - all very tasty! Slugs have taken a backseat and the ants are no longer crawling amongst the plants since keeping the saucers topped up.

So far they've had 1 feed this season with Miracle Gro, it says 3 feeds per season. There are plenty more shoots coming out so when will it be best to do the next feed?
