Plant ID help please!

Hello! Does anyone know what this is? It’s gone a bit wild in recent weeks & I’m unsure how best to maintain it. Should I trim it back down to the roots? Or is it a weed? e

Yes, you can cut it down and it will re grow. It's a hardy geranium, maybe Johnson's Blue.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Yes, that’s just what it looks like! Thank you kindly  :#

I think the flowers are too light for Johnson's Blue, and the plant a bit more lax and leggy. I've got a geranium just like this in my garden - can't remember what it's called but I'll have the label somewhere. Could be g pratense Mrs Kendall Clarke, off the top of my head... It needs support - I plant it in between clumps of Nepeta Six Hills Giant and that holds it up beautifully :)
  • Ooh interesting, thanks. Maybe we’ll have to look into relocating it to give it some support..

Mrs Kendall Clarke has white veins which are not present on OP's photos.
    Devon.
